The first lap of the race was a steady pace despite the rain. After the first lap, I pulled ahead with Spencer Straughen. We quickly developed breakaway with a 30 to 40 second lead. Spencer and I stayed together for about 7 laps until Spencer fell back to the group. I maintained the same 30 second lead on my own for 9 more laps. My coaches Rob and Art coached me constantly on my lead time and when to pick up speed or keep it steady. Dawson McDonald bridged up to me by the second last lap and we worked together to finish the race until the sprint. On the final corner, I pulled out on the inside and sprinted to the finish taking the win!
